五十多年历史的南京艺术学院老校区，除了遍布校区的咖啡、书吧、创意小店，还有随处可见的各种艺术装置，在热闹拥挤的宿舍楼群之间，学校准备利用原46号宿舍楼底层用房改造并扩建一个两层的艺术展厅，下层“古瓷片研究展厅”，上层“古油画修复展厅”，两个主题一中一西，并要求分别管理，互不相通。为寻找艺术与传统的共通气质，也为了再为学校添置一件“能用”的装置，我们设计了一个清水混凝土的小房子，名为“砼展厅”，并在室内以一处狭长的通高空间，为两个主题提供了对话的机会。1 K Z+ ^) G6 p
The half-century-old campus of Nanjing University of the Arts accommodates not only numerous coffee shops, book cafes, and creative stores, but also diverse kinds of art installations scattering all over the place. Among the crowded dormitory complexes, the university planned to renovate the ground floors of the No.46 dormitory building into a two-storey art gallery. The lower floor would be used as an “Ancient Porcelain Research Showroom”, and the upper floor will have an “Ancient Oil Painting Restoration Showroom”. With required separate management, the art gallery would be showcasing Chinese and Western culture apart with zero communication. In order to reconnect western art and Chinese tradition, and in the meanwhile, include one more piece of art installation in the campus art collection, we designed a small fair-faced concrete place called “The Concrete Exhibition Hall”, which provides an opportunity for conversation between the two themes with a long and narrow, indoor double-height space.! i. |! f& @; g4 x2 Z9 H3 T
