湾头坐落于宁波市中心北部，日湖流经邕江的急转处。内部连接河流的水系和城市发展所形成的岛屿明确了整个城市结构。滨水新城的每个岛屿都被高密度地开发建造，但仍有足够的空间用于绿化。规划中南北向公共开放空间横穿市中心，极具城市特色，也为城市提供了文化与艺术的主轴。沿中心水路延伸的一串小岛在城市和海滨之间建立了绿色生态的连接。
The masterplan for the Wantou New City in Ningbo is a creative combination of the urban requirements of the city, its unique location and the amount of green required for a healthy cityscape.
